4. If you have an issue with one of your colleagues, what should you do? *

Speak to your colleagues about it to ask for advice. Tell the guests because they will find it interesting. Speak to your manager and keep the issue private from everyone else.

Call an after hours technician to deal with the issue. Tell the guests that there is nothing you can do. Troubleshoot to the best of your abilities, offer our apologies and offer a greater gesture if necessary. Remain positive. Report issues to your manager as needed.

6. When is it appropriate to use profanity, derogatory terms or slurs? *

Only with colleagues, never in front of guests. When alone in private. Never under any circumstances on the Merrill property.

7. Which experiences can guests enjoy at Merrill House? *

8. How do you show respect for our team and workplace environment? *

By always remaining positive and helping others whenever possible. By discussing intimate details of your personal life with your colleagues and guests. By making your colleagues understand what is included in your job description so they know what to expect.

9. How do you address a guest in an email? *

Dear/Good morning/Good afternoon in every email. Hi/Hello/Hey in every email. Dear/Hello in the first email. No salutation is needed in subsequent emails.

10. How should you dress at Merrill House? *

In your street clothes unless there are guests around, then in your department’s uniform. In your department’s uniform. If you arrive in street clothes, you should change immediately after arriving. Never in jeans or sneakers. In black clothing and shoes of any kind.
